thick smoke

i went with a friend to view a pular tonight and when it was turned on it smoked heavily with thick white smoke, it smoked for a little while until the car was warm then it seemed to clear up, is this normal or is something up?

When the smoke is blue and oily, not white as thats just condensation!

as long as it clears dont worry if it dont its got head gasket gone.... but as already mensioned its probably just condensation out of exhaust. The car would be mis firing aswell if water was getting into the cylinders
