Thermostat

I dont know if anyone can help, i've just bought a thermostat for my R from a local parts supplier and ive gone to fit it and it goes in the hole ok but i've just realised that it aint gonna work coz its gonna foul a sensor when it heats up. it aint a nissan part its a Motaquip part but does this make any difference ? There wasnt one in it anyway, a thermostat, that is. And thats probably for the said reason. Has anyone come across this prob before? or is it just coz it aint a Nissan part? :?

Not sure i'm guessing its a water temp sensor but i'm no exspert so could be anything.

is it an aftermarket sensor or something? there' s nothing near the thermostat normaly :?

Dont know its dark and i've not long finished work so i'll have a look early 2 moz if i get time. Nothing is simple is it :x
