Wont come out of gear even with the car off, whats most likely to have broke??

what sort of clutch you using?had the same problem this year it turned out that the helix clutch i had in the car decided it wanted to pull itself apart

When it's the clutch you can usually select gears with the engine off, but not when it's turning.

nope,gearbox out and strip i'm afraid
