steering rack

oh poo...just took the R for some new tyres and the rack is gone...

any ideas how hard these are to replace on the R? and do they go v.quckly?

just seems one thing after another lately.

how do you know if the racks gone? if leaking fluid check gaiters.

took the R for some new tyres this morning...had quite a bit of play in the wheels....movement back and forth....thinking its the rack....

If the wheel has play in the 3+9 O clock position it could be track rod ends. If it's in the 6+12 O clock position it could be the lower ball joints. If it's all around it could be the wheel bearings. Also check the obvious like the wheel nuts are tight and the driveshaft nut is tight.

Hi there, if your rack is bust,iv got a spare one.Dont think there easy to fit though.
