Been fitting my new springs today and come across a problem (or two!).
1. Passenger side front wheel bearing is goosed - with play both in the 3 - 9 and 12 - 6 direction. Not too hard to sort out I'm sure - but where to get the new bearing - Nissan or motor factors?
2. I think the steering rack is also goosed. Pushing and pulling on either front wheel in the 3 - 9 direction there's a nasty clunk from the inner end of the steering arm. Pulling the driver's side wheel (as the bearing is OK) 3 - 9, there's about a cm play either way before the clunk. There's no play in the rod end - and the noise is definitely coming from somewhere at the inboard end - am I right to suspect the rack or is there something else up that end that could give the same symptoms?
