steem cleaning engine bay.

just wondering if steem cleanning the engine bay is advised or not, or using degresser and a hose.
seems to be lots of sensorsand connections around the engine bay. do these get effected at all in the process.
just starting to get a build up of dust as there seems to be a very very slight oil mist around the outer areas of the engine bay.

Steam cleaning isnt really recommended as water gets forced into all the elec connections and rots them, also it washers off the corrosion protection that the manufacturers apply.
I have uase a steamer on my car but just round the edges, done the rest by hand
