Standard GTi-R turbo T-28 compressor map and max pressure

Hi,

Has anyone got or know a link to site which has compressor map for standard GTi-R T-28 turbo?

Also your opinions about max boost pressure / max power which can be obtained with standard turbo, with water injection or not.

i hear u can run 1.2 bar fine. but u can run 1.4 bar but it wont last. someone ran 1.7bar once i believe it lasted a while :lol:

Yes it is very much similar to GT28R, due to wheel size & trim is similar. But how similar? :D

Well the compressor is the same... Just the GT core will mean that the turbo will respond and spool quicker...

Are you sure about this ? Because EVEN if trim , A/R and wheel inducer&exducer are the same there still might be different wheel heigth and wheel angle. Which would make serious difference.

Here is a genuine T28 Compressor Map



Peak Power @ 1.2bar... 315bhp...

You can run a little higher for more torque...

NOTE - Its the same as the GT28R map as i already said.... :wink:

Just for comparision Sam managed 326bhp @ 1.5bar...

The compressor map shows that the peak power should be... 315 - 330bhp...

Well that is the compressor map for a T28... It even looks the same as a GT28R compressor map as the compressors are the same...

That Dyno figure was taken from one dyno... Never compared with another one to see how accurate it was...

A finely tuned GTiR on here was recently dyno's at 1.5bar on a T28 Hybrid(360deg washer) with a better spec than Pauls car and it made 326bhp...

Pauls car was running 1.5/1.6bar at the time too...

Take my word for it that a Standard T28 is only good for a genuine 315 - 330bhp...

Why are you so concerned about a compressor map based on a turbo thats using WWII technilogy anyway...

1.2 - 1.4bar is where you want to be at with it...

what about advancing the timing a little? is 340bhp at 1.4 bar poss - maybe with a bottle of cvl turbo added :lol: or is that just cheating

A turbo will only flow what it can... Advance the timing and add little octane booster and yes maybe 340bhp is possible...

One question, has anyone made a hybrid from Gti-R T28, with using bigger compressor wheel (and remachining compressor housing) ?

gti-r wheel: exducer: 60,00 inducer: 46,40 trim: 60
47mm wheel: exducer: 60,00 inducer: 47,20 trim: 62

OR wasn't there also a 48mm T28 wheel, in escort cosworth (t25) ?

Is Gti-r shell possible to remachine bigger and use bigger wheel, or does it need the S14 compressor housing? Or if this is discussed before, has someone link to the topic..

Turbo Dynamics have a whole range of moddified T28's... Give them a call....

OR wasn't there also a 48mm T28 wheel, in escort cosworth (t25) ?
This was propably my mistake, Cosworth used T3-wheel inducer: 48mm exducer: 69mm trim: 48 :oops:

Main question is still the same, can Gti-R compressor be remachined for this T28 47mm-wheel (fits directly to shaft), or even these bigger T3-wheels (69mm exducer) ?

You can machine the Compressor to accomodate a larger wheel... Not sure what the max size is though...

Like i say TD do this and can advise you about what you require...
