done all taht, think the circuit got fused by them wiring wrong.
have a square wave generator plumbed in atm. good old maplins!

forgot to say, the speedo clocks convert the speedo signal for the ecu to use (5v square wave)

from what i gather it applies a rev limit at ~5500 rpm (drops revs to 4000) if it thinks car is stationary. as it thinks car is having the nuts revved off it with no load. ie. anti chav device lol

ahh Ok so the cluster sends the signal to the ecu I'll have to rip it apart again Ecu is a hard one to swap as i need a daughter board but the clusters doable Cheers lads

yeh, but it doesnt return a signal to dash. dash should work of its own accord.

oh and by the way, if the delimeter isnt wired correctly the speedo AND the milometer dont work - this usually signals a faulty speed senser. it took about 15 mins to change the speedo senser, knuckles a bit scraped but wasnt too bad a job.
Hmm come to think of it.. the odometers hardly ever worked But the speedo has up til recently
tho i dont have a delimiter
