some kinda fault!! Any Ideas???

As usual, new car, test run was gr8, whole weekend with no problems, not drove it for nearly a week, start the car and it won't rev past 2000rpm it just momentarily cuts out. but if i put my accelerator to the floor it will rev its nuts off then drop back to below 2000 rpm again. also seems to have lost a bit of power. it is driveable but keeps doing this every few minuites then is ok again. any ideas. Very confused?

Check for any loose pipes, intercooler pipes.
Do a compression check and check your plugs and leads.
