Solution to noisey exhausts?

Just spotted this which looks interesting.

Basically its just a tee in the exhaust with an actuator on it that releases the exhaust gases wherever you fit it in the system when you hit full boost.

Could be useful for passing noise tests at trackdays :lol:

This reminds me of an idea I had but it wasn't feasable and I gave up on it in a turbo exhaust system for the best results you need maximum airflow for minimum air resistance (backpressure) at all stages of the rev range and the only way to do this properly is to have a totally variable exhaust system or nozzle (aircraft inspired ) There have been similar things in the past but things like butterfly valves disrupt the airflow too much! Maybe something like whats on the end of a hose pipe??? Has to operate under very high temps and be able to adjust very quickly though, anyone want to develop this with me???
