smokeing problem

hi there just woundering if any one can help my R is smokeing but only when i back off the throtle or just cruiseing at 30 ish it only puts out a puff of smoke then stops and then there is no smoke at all it also does it when aproching traffic lights a bit of smoke then stops the turbo has been rebuilt and it didnt have this problem before that was done the turbo was done because the seals went in it if anyone has any ideas i would begreatful cheers danny

could be valve stem seals if it only smokes on overrun..the vacuum in the cylinders can cause oil to be sucked past the seals when decelerating. there are oil aditives that can help seals to swell and stop smoking. good luck.

is it blue smoke?if so, this was my prob on my current r, before rebuild ,smoking only on over run, cylinder four had half the piston ring missing, and a bit of the piston,due to some :der: fitting a bleed valve, and running stupid unmanaged boost levels,
hope this isnt your case though sounds like it is though if its blue smoke:x
do a compression test.
