was ringing about today for a few upgrades ,among those is getting an uprated head gasket.i was told by one garage that the engine needs to be removed to put on a head gasket! :? surely not.im no mechanic but i was pretty sure the engine could stay in the car or is there something different on the gtir?i know its a daft question but i was told this by a very well known garage.

the head has been removed from my engine, while it was still in the car.the clutch would probably be worth doing if your taking the engine out the car

more than likely just after ur money. might not struggle as much with the engine out and if it was mine with the engine i would be tempeted to put a clutch in depending on the age of it

Ex-Gtir might be the man to ask.
It's possibly easier to do it with the engine removed (not totally sure), but it can be done with the engine in the car.

far easier to retime it out of the car and while its out your can give the bay a good clean
