I finally got round to attacking my spare manifold with a Dremel yesterday and got good results with minimal effort. On the first runner, without touching the port mouth, I managed to open the throat by 2mm. And that was a very rough effort. With more work, I'd expect an improvement of 3mm or more. That would be a 10% increase in port diameter !
As I can only get so far with the Dremel, I wanted to know whether it would be worth getting the manifold internals sand or bead blasted ?
Clearly this would be to smooth the runners and remove the rough casting, more than actually opening it up but, again, every little helps !
If it would be worth it, what would be the best method ? Sand blasting ? Or bead blasting ?
