rev counter

my rev counter isnt workin think its a broken wire sumwhere,ive got an aftermarket rev counter,jus wanted to know would it be ok to take a wire from that and put it to the standard rev counter on the bk of the clocks?also which is the signal 4 the rev counter on the clocks?done a search cant really find anythin
