I bought a replacement speedo set (the previouse car owner took mine apart and lost half the bits and it has never worked well).
When i fitted the replacement it didnt work, on close inspection i found it to be slightly different. The ribbon on the back mainly and the abs and indicator lights are painted on on the new one where the origional were only backlit. I have heard that non ABS clocks are different but do they differ on abs models aswell? mine is a 93 l reg and i dont know what the new clocks are out of. I removed the speedo and rev counter from the new clocks and fitted them in the origional carcuss and they work now but the fuel and temp guages dont, i expect if i swap these over they will work also in the old carcuss...
