For anyone wanting to know, this is how to convert the rear wiper so it rests at the horizontal position instead of the naff vertical position.

a.. Remove the trim from the tailgate - it just pulls off.

b.. Remove the rear wiper.

c.. Disconnect and remove the motor and gearbox - 3 bolts

d.. Remove the phillips screws on the motor and gearbox housing.

e.. Pull apart.

f.. Remove all the circlips ( 3? ) apart from the one that holds the linkage to the arm that sits on the gear (no need to).

g.. You might as well regrease everything while your at it so tap the spindle out, clean up and regrease - you should be able to rock this from side to side easily with your finger. Mine was difficult to turn even with a large spanner (which is why mine was off - wiper stopped wiping!).

h.. THE IMPORTANT BIT - remove the arm that is sitting on the plastic gear. Pick it up, turn it round 180 degrees and put it back it back on.

i.. This is how the gearbox should be connected back up. But before you do, drill a 10mm (ish) recess into the plastic just like the one 180 degrees further around the wheel. This is for the linkage rivet to sit in and if you dont bother drilling a recess (and thus saving yourself a whole 30 secs!) the whole assembly will probably be tight when fastened back together. Just remember not to drill right through!

j.. Now just assemble everything back together using loads of grease/copperslip or whatever you normally use for lubrication!

k.. If youre like me the old circlips now probably resemble little metal bananas so get yor hands on some proper circlips around 6 - 8mm diameter? and put them on.
