basically if just changed my rear diff which wasnt to much of a problem untill i came to putting the drive shafts back in.
the n/s rear popped in as it should but the o/s rear just wont go in.
ive replaced the retaining clip aswell. still no joy.
is there a special way these go back in.
any help would be much appreciated.

it should just go back in once youve lifted the diff back up.
was it you who collected rear diff from me the other day?

thats what i thought bob. is weird ive just tryied it without the retaining clip on the end and it goes in fine. pretty stuck as the clips ive got are genuine nissan ones.
the shafts arnt sided are they?
nah it wasnt me who came down the other day but i will be making a trip down soon once this is sorted.

yep defo the same type. both viscous. ive spent a bit of time thinking about this now.
when i took the drive shafts out of the old diff the n/s rear retaining clip stayed on the shaft where as the o/s stayed in the diff. so i removed the o/s rear clip of of the shaft and tryied it on the old diff and guess what. bingo pops in.
so now im thinking the o/s rear retaining clip is suposed to stay in the diff.
has any one noticed this before????

Doesn't it work like that for the front one; one stays in, and the other comes out with the shaft?
