rear demister prob

getting car ready for its new identity (french plates) no more speeding for me....

any way the rear mister has never worked so i took the rear boot panel off and started playing but havent found the problem apart from that if i unscrew one of the wires at the back the power one or the earth one the light will come on on the swith to say its on althought its not working but with it all connected the light will not light up to say that the switch is even on ???

although this isnt a mot failer i would like it to work

I'd be checking for continuity on the tracks across the screen. - Mine works on about 2/3 of them; the rest have probably got a little cut through them, and that's enough to mean they don't do anything.

I found a soft-lead pencil can be used to re-join the tracks... much cheaper than that copper paint you're supposed to use, but you do need to occasionally re-apply.
