R wont turn over

The last couple of days my R's being getting hard to turn over like its a power fault but it has a new good battery and when its running the alternator gives good voltage but now it wont even try to turn over it doesnt click the solenoid or anything just puts the light on the dash on which looks like a circuit over heating (not sure exactly and its not in the handbook)

Is it the hot dog lamp? - Have you removed the heat probe for the catalytic convertor? Is it possible that's shorting and draining the battery?

Yeah it is worked it out lol the cat was remvoved when i got the car but the probe was put back in. The battery isnt flat its fine just seems like no power to starter il just throw a live down to the starter tomorrow to see if she kicks over.

It's odd because it shouldn't, but there does seem to be the odd thing like that where the hot dog light comes on. - It's not even connected to the ECU IIRC.

It does seem as if the starters jammed or the solenoid as the solenoid doesnt even click but il see what happens when i put power straight to starter.

Just had the starter out of the rally car, as it was acting up similarly. Mates rates fix was a tenner, new solenoid. Inlet manifold off fix

By now the brushes in the starters are knackered, just fit new ones....and regrease the gears whilst yer in there

Located the problem starter bendix had locked up got it going for now but will get a new motor bought this week
