It's cause people don't take care of them and run them into the ground!

Then they either sell them on cheap or bobby takes them to his graveyard!

I had mine up for sale for £4500 a while ago and IMO is well worth the price due to the condition of it and how well it has been cared for and no problems what so ever with it. But I took it back down due to getting annoyed with people comparing to all the sheds for sale and wondering why it was about £1000 more than them!!!

But I'm the one who's laughing now at the people on here who PM'd me about it but bought other cars and have been on here posting all the problems they've had!!!!

11 months down the line and mine is still going strong!!!!

I think some people see a gtir that is priced under £3000 and they automatically assume its a piece of sh*t, but anything over this means it is a good one. has anyone else noticed this kind of thing?? or is it just me??:der:

I know what you mean, but I have to say any Pulsar I've seen under £3000 have been total buckets!! Either rusted away, abused or time bombs!

And some of the ones over that are either over priced or worth the money!!

You just need to shop around for the good ones!

What does annoy me is some of the pistonheads ads where they state "immaculate" or "best pulsar around" and you can tell from the pictures that they obviously aren't!!

Hmm, maybe i have underpriced mine and should put it up to £3200. i might get some more people interested

I can never understand when people lie blatantly about the condition of their car, do they think that you will go and look at it and not notice that its nothing like they said it was??

i personally think that when winter comes along and christmas is looming then people flog them for peanuts as there brassic and are loojking for money for christmas!

prime example: last december and january i bought 3 descent cars for less than 2,500 for the lot. and they were all good runners.

its not true that cars under 3k are all shite, theres loads of good ones around for that price! ive just sold a lovely little car for under that price with one owner who has meticulously maintained it.
but in all fairness they are old cars, with no fixed price in glasses guide, so there only worth what someone is willing to pay! you could spend 6k and still end up with an old dog thats been bodged up to look the part, so i personally think 3k is a fair price for any of them!
if you want a quick sale then advertise it realistically, but if your not bothered about selling it then stick it up for 4k plus

yet you can buy a rusty old shed of a saphy cossie for 5k, **** hanging off it and been stolen more often than its been serviced

as bob says, you only get what people are willing to pay - but figure this one out, the gtiR was more expensive when new than the Escort Cosworth

Im very surprised that the R's are not fetching good money
As its not been duplicated and are getting a rare on the roads..And if you look at its rivals for its year they fetch good money...

I have never really thought about it quite like that, and it makes a lot of sense.

I put mine up for less than £3000 as i saw ones going just above that price with rebuilt engines/gearboxes and i have no evidence of that for mine, so thought that i would never be able to sell mine for a similar price. But as you say it depends what the individual wants to pay, and how quick you want to sell the car.

 You cheeky b*stard! A couple of weeks ago you'd have been correct, but I've decided the rust look wasnt a good one, so when I get it back it will be a sh1tter no longer!!! ;)

But anyway, hows your garage ornament coming along?

Your car should at least be off bobbys hit list when you get it back then   .

The garage ornament is just fine lol, Very dusty though  .

I've been busy sorting out the last few jobs I need to do before it goes off to get the new exhaust and charge cooler fitting done, I took the side skirts off and found a couple of rust scabs, Just surface stuff where stones had hit the bodywork, But I'm in the middle of sorting them out and re-painting with black smoothrite. Once the side skirts are on you can't see it anyway, I will get them painted properly next year, I'm thinking of having painted back to the proper black anyway.

Also sold my coil overs and am waiting for lightweight Lionel to send me the replacement shocks I bought last week ;-) .

Sounds like it might make its (new) maiden voyage sometime soon! :D

I decided that there was no point in keeping the rustbucket if all I was gonna do was pootle around in it on the weekends, so decided to throw a bit of cash at it and get it sorted properly. Who knows, I might even get round to ordering a few new engine parts off our friend Eric!! ;)
