Yes you do if you want your insurance to be valid, depends on your age, the conviction etc as to the amount it could increase your insurance. Also really depends on the company, some don't increase premiums at all for one SP30, some do.
You'll have to declare them for 5 years, but will only pay an increased premium for 3.

Alot of insurance companies I spoke to said that as I had 3 points for speeding and now drive a group 20 car then i can expect a slight increase in my premium. Think they expect you to go out and do it again seeing as your in a powerfull car.
I didnt do it again tho so now my licence is all clean and nice
