I have asked this question in other words before but didn't get the answer I needed, so here goes the same question in different words.
Please help if you can.
If anybody has a standard strut "without a spring on it" lying about could they do me a favour. What I need to no is, how much travel is in the strut.
I.E. with NO SPRING OR COVER on the strut and the strut fully extended, measure how much strut rod is exposed, then compress the strut, now with the strut compressed measure how much strut rod is exposed, I just need to know how much the strut will compress, or how much travel is in the rod.
Basically I have some height adjustable coilovers to go on my car and with no spring in place the strut rod will compress about 45mm, that is to say the strut rod will travel 45mm. The springs that are going on are 400lb on the front and 340lb on the rear
Now, it would be really nice to know if that amout of travel is going to be enough before I waste a day putting the bl00dy things on.
Any help will be grately received
