Can anyone help me, i have just set my timing and realised it was actually around 23° - 25°. i have now set it to about 18° and was wondering what this would cause. i havn't road tested it yet but before it spluttered really bad on boost and when cold. could over advancing the timing cause this?

usually on most engines advancing the timing will cause it to idle differently and ping it's n*ts off when revved.

If you check out the how to guides you will see that it runs 5 degrees
advance when cold  so you are well in the danger zone!!

but in the how to section it says to set the timing to 20 degrees (6th) knotch when warm. mine was just past that so i backed it of a little to 18.

18 is fine what I mean is you get an extra 5 degrees when cold thats why
you shouldn't rev it untill warm, make sure you follow the guide exactly
