Has anyone any idea what thickness the cerimetalic friction material on the plates of a new OS Giken clutch is, I've just inspected mine and the cerimetalic friction material is about 1mm thick.
I forgot to metion my OS Giken has already been used but I'm not sure how much. I just don't want to fit the clutch and find out in 2 - 5000 miles it needs new plates.
Well, the plates, cover and flywheel all come as a complete kit and can only go back together one way, so thats not a problem.
What I'm saying is, when an OS Giken twin plate clutch is new is there 2 - 3mm of material on the plates ( in which case mine is quite worn) or is there only 1mm of material (in which case mine is still good).
I suppose I should make some inquiries into the availabily of new plates anyway.
