Oil pump

Given the price of a repleacment pump from Nissan £300 :shock:
Has anyone found an aftermarket or uprated one for around the same money :?:

The internal gears are only £80 for both. Strip the oil pump and check for clearances and if they are within the Nissan spec's then just rebuild it back up.

Most of the time people just sling in new gears.

Yes a whole assembly is £300 +

I don't think you can buy a aftermerket equivlant and deffo no uprated ones available.

Some poepl say change the whole thing but i just changed the gears in mine :wink:

why replace the gears, they are made from hardened steel, the casing is made from cast aluminium, it doesnt take a genious to work out what wears quicker :roll:

Thats easy, you make a special tool, Nissan special tools part number 11176776824 :D
I've been contemplating whether to skim the ally oil pump cover or not as far as i can see it should be ok to do it and with new gears it'd be like new again. :?:
Beleive it or not the gears do wear aswell
