OE intercooler to Turbo plumbing...

Maybe I have posted this in the wrong section but I could not find the downgrade section.... ;-)
I have replaced my OE turbo with a GT2871r and ARC tmic... I am wondering if it would be detramental to use the OE IC to turbo pipe to marry this up... my plan would be to cut the turbo end of the pipe off (bolted flange), dress it smooth (round) and jubilee pipe it onto my now round turbo compressor inlet.

unless there's a nasty restriction in the OE pipe (i can't remember ever looking at one) then i'd just leave it alone.

The ID of the bolt-on part would be the same if you use a new pipe or not.
