Noisy power steering on full lock?

At full lock, I'm getting alot of squeeling. Under normal driving theres no noises at all.

The belt seems tensioned enough, and the fluid level is fine.

Any ideas?

Don't hold it on full lock.

The lack of time you're at full lock, I wouldn't worry about it until it starts moving further towards the centre.

The hissing noise on full lock is caused by the pump discharge relief valve lifting to protect hoses and seals, it does'nt do the system much good. As mentioned, do not hold it on full lock.

geetee is right!
the belts more than likely worn.
also because its a ribbed belt they have to be ping tight, not like the old v belts with 1/2 inch play, or it will make a racket when on full lock when the pump is under extreme load.
