taken her for the maiden voyage today after the following rebuild. JE forged pistons, eagle rods, new bearings, balanced bottom end and a ported head, she started up fine after a slight technical glitch, and runs beautiful even with a dodgy lambda probe.
there is however three problems,
firstly there is a slight top end rattle, quite noticable on start up and then quitens down after 10 secs or so but still can be herd when ear is near cam cover.
second is the p/s or lack of, bearing in mind the car has been stood for easy six months. i filled the reservoir with fluid and bled the system, but still no p/s, thinking maybe pump seized
thirdly and most worrying is, coming back into workshop after said maiden voyage this morning, was reversing in and went to change into first and it got stuck, turned the car off and eventually come out, oh i have an ap paddle fitted if this helps,
