Ok I ve still got the same existing miss fire at 2000rpm! T he alternator died so ichanged it I started it up and it was ideling fine reved it and still had the 2000rpm miss fire! So ileft it running while I tidyedup my tools and after about 5mins I heard the engine starting to die! So I looked at volts on the power fx and it was 14volts so they alternators charging! I tried to rev it a little and it coughed and spluterd then cut out! I started it Again again and it stared coughed and spluterd then died again! I've rechecked my work doing the alternator and that's fine! Before that I changed plugs leads rotor arm dizzy cap cas unit coil ignition module ecus airflow meters and nothing!

fuel pump?
plug gaps?
engine grounds?
AFM wires?
Injector plugs?

Thats what occurs to me
me too.

blocked fuel filter?
fuel pump, or pressure?

is it just a missfire at 2000 or is it worse than that and you can't drive it or rev it above that?

Do you have the PFC boost controller? Is it connected to the PFC?

If you don't have the PFC boost controller have a look to see if it's switched on.

Plug gaps are .7 engine earths are fine afms been checked and reearthed and checked injector conectors! How do you test the fuel pump? Take the fuel lines of and start it?

Fuel filters new! And I don't have the PFC boost controler! When it did start it wld rev to 2000 rpm then miss fire when it's past it the magic 2000 it wld be fine again now it just won't do any run at all

do you have the PFC controller? check to see if the boost controller is switched on or not....

you can hear the fuel pump working as you turn on the ign but don't turn the engine over....you'll hear it working for approx 5 seconds.

You can see if it's then making pressure by putting a guage in the pipe that goes from the filter to the fuel rail

Right ok I've checked the boost control kit and Is turned off! Fuel pump is making noise! And it starts when it's cold fine but as it warms up the idle revs drop and it dies as it gets to running temperature!

what about cold start device (iac valve) on back of plenum, could be sticking on, sounds as though car is massively overfuelling.
also has anyone actually checked the map out yet on the pfc as it may be all wrong!

there is also another possibility.....have you got the carbon canister still on the car? if so then is it plumbed in correctly?
ive seen it done where the pipes have been connected wrong and the canister becomes pressurised which in turn pressurises the tank and fuel lines....this can lead to excess pressure at injectors causing them to put to much fuel in cylinders.
easy way to check this is by feeling the canister and see if it bellows when car is revved

Check your Crank angle sensor. I had the same problem on my car and even got an scope on the signal to check it worked. It worked fine until around 2-3K and felt like a rev limit but generally ran poorly until warm.

Andy Chan's car had the same issue when I was going to map it. I didn't even check as I just told him to get a couple of spares and try them.

I haven't worked out what it is yet which is annoying as I am convinced there are still secondary issues. My prime suspects are earthing, filtering or the PFC is expecting a variation in model number of the CAS. I do know a new standard one from Nissan seems to cure all the ills but that is £500.

If you car works fine on the standard ECU but not on the PFC then that would be my prime suspect.
