No they don't just pull out.

You need to unclip the plastic trim at the bottom of the gearstick gaitor. This should reveal a couple of screws at the bottom of the plastic trim over the centre console - remove these and pull the bottom out - the top should unclip.

Be careful not to yank the wiring to the hazard / forg switches.

The 3 gauge pod is then help in by 4 screws - undo them and pull the pod forward disconnecting the wiring behind. Bulbs should be fairly obvious at this point.

I'd advise you to stick LED's in there, then you'll never have to change them again !
what ones did you fit? did you need to solder anything or glue anything?

thanks.

Try here www.ultraleds.co.uk or on fleabay for and idea of what you need. I think the centre instrument cluster takes '286' type bulbs from memory and not looking at the website !

I changed all my bulbs for red leds, including the main instrument cluster. No soldering or glueing is required as, they push fit as the OE bulbs do !

What's nice is that they're also cheaper than the OE bulbs are !
