launch control = problems!

hi guys, well basically i was testing out the launch control on the power fc and now the car runs like a sack of sh*t.

- will not start very easily, cranks but sluggish and catches very slowly
- very lumpy idle
- loud tick/knock coming from round by the plenium every few secs- and worse if i give it a little blip. the engine will be running; abet lumpy then it will go knock... normallish for a second or two then knock again. its loud cross between a tick, click, knock and a klonk.


breakdown guy, said it sounded like it was backfiring back through the inlet manifold - could be the timing chain jumped a tooth.

i did a compression test, all came back around 145psi, spark plugs were black but normal, no smoke on idle from the exhaust, checked all the pipes i can see and all look ok, although i will check again in the morning.

any other ideas of what i could have done :?:

reset the powerfc and see if that fixes it

or fit std ecu and see if that fixes it so you can rule out the ecu


never had a problem with mine

sounds like you need to get the powerfc mapped proper to me the launch control is very userfriendly I have found with no probs while using it.

but ive used the launch control a few times before with no problems.

the pfc is still set up for a 3037 turbo, but im running i on the standard one at the moment but limited to 5000rpm.

can i still use the standard ecu on 600cc injectors just to test it?

could it be anything internal ive damaged?
