Lack Of Power!

Recently i have been experiencing a lack of power when i put my foot down :cry:
When i first get in the car having warmed it up it pulls away like it should through all the gears, but occasionaly after about 15 mins or so, the power seems to dissapear. It feels like the petrol is not getting to the engine and it realy seems to strugle.
I have just had a goose exhaust fitted and wonder if this has anything to do with it? :?
If i leave the car for a bit and come back about half hour later, the problem normaly seams to have disapeared. :D
The turbo is still registering positive pressure on the boost gauge so does that mean that the turbo is still running fine?
I need to get this resolved because i have had a few embarrasing situations, one envolving an escort rs turbo; i put my foot down and mycar sits there whilst a mikey mouse escort full of Chav's flys off and leaves me standing there. :oops:

Does it happen after travelling at slow speeds, sitting in traffic etc.
Probably heat soak from top mount.

Can happen any time. What is heat soak and how is it resolved?

:eek: Help help help, PLEEEEASE HEEEELP. Its gone from bad to worse. The power loss is becoming more and more regular. even a trip down the shops i am not getting any enjoyment. On top of that when i sit there and the car settles down in idle some (only a bit) black smoke comes out the new goose. WHATS HAPPENING TO MY PRESIOUS BABY :cry:

On top of that the humiliation is getting far far worse. I have just put my foot down at the light cos a 4 door focus packed with chavs were looking at me like a mug. I barely got in front of them, and nearly came off the road doing so :oops:

I have this problem at the moment, the next thing im going to swap is the knock sensor......

Knock sensor? Whats that I am a bit of a novice. Have you resolved the problem yet.

Same as it always has. Shoots straight upto full boost and then holds it there?

It could be overfuelling if it's chucking black smoke out, so worth looking at the AFM, lambda sensor and coolant sensor for problems, also blocked air filter and leaking exhausts are a possibility. Also check for air leaks, hoses off or loose.

Dont you mean powerstation are going to swap it :lol: Or are you or Ben feeling brave :D You could always pay me to come and do it :wink:

Paddypower, what boost are you running? And does the boost stay there when you get this problem?
