Knackered wheel bearing?

I cant get the car to the garage until the weekend.

I think I've done a wheel bearing but am not sure - is there any way to check?

The symptoms are:

when the car is cold I.e. Driven in a morning i dont tend to have the problem. One it's been driven for a few minutes, I get a knocking/screeching/ticking noise from the rear left wheel when breaking. It doesn't sound like a break problem, and the pads/discs look ok.

Then this morning someone said it looked like my rear wheel (the same one) was wobbling a bit when I was driving.

Does this sound like a bearing problem or something else?

Cheers

Jack up the corner at fault so the weight is off the wheel and feel the wheel for any movement or wobbles when you spin it. Hope this helps. :)

Have you checked that the wheel nuts are tight?
My wife had a similar problem and thought there was something really wrong... until I did the nuts up.

Yeah, was the first thing I checked- I've had 'nut issues' before thanks to someone who shall remain nameless
