January = Engine Rebuild!!

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Hi people,

In january i am looking to take the engine out my car. I want to rebuild the engine and send the gearbox away to have it checked and rebuilt.
I was just wondering if anyone here had done this before and what your views are on doing this job, also what problems you had etc.

Depends on what type of rebuild you are doing and if you have the right equipment (can hire some of it) and space to do it.

Other than that it is not to bad, but then i do do it day in, day out.

At the moment just to take the engine apart, inspect it, would like to put a set of forged pistons in it, replace all gaskets and see what it needs as i go along.

Is it worth it?
What do you charge for a rebuild?
