is there any aerodynamic benefit to the laguna splitter?

On a road car? No, not really; I found it to be a liability because it was always catching on things (mainly kerbs and steep drives).
On a track car? Technically, yes; it's not as good as a proper front splitter, but for the price and ease you can't really knock it.

As above, on a road car absolutely no benefit what so ever, They're there purely for show and to attack any and every speed bump, kerb, item of roadkill and pot hole.

I have one on and its a good warning for when there's shit tarmac at junctions-it scuffs and you know to be more careful there next time.Makes bog all difference to anything else though.
