never seen a charge cooler added with the standard set up, but we have a car thats got a fmic and a tmic!

charge cooler should work, but by the time you mount a radiator, pump etc, you'd be aswell just adding a front mount

GT4 have charge cooler and then the rad for the charge cooler on the front. Ihave pulled a few off and fitted normal inter coolers. They work better then.

Might of been, i remember it came with a spray for the front to cool it down but that was a wrc model I had.

I tested a Subaru Legacy chargecooler setup on my 'R (was a cheap way to give the chargecooler option a try!) with my GT2871R, but it couldn't keep the temperature down as much as my Evo 6 FMIC does. I think however, that was more down to the water capacity of the Legacy system and the speed the pump was designed to run at (still got it all if you wanna give it a try!).

If you were wanting to run it in conjunction with the TMIC it should work pretty well, but probably no more efficient than a short pipe run to a reasonably sized FMIC.

Chargecooling is a viable option...if you have deep deep pockets for the cooler and all its ancilliaries!

I guess you need to think about how much boost and power you ultimately want to run.

i have a front moutn intercooler but hate they way they fit/look.. i used to run a charge cooler setup on my 5 tub and it kept the temps down at around 30degrees..

im thinking a bigger enough pre rad and also the top mount ic would still be able to keep the temps low and not have any pressure drop/torque loss due to a massive long pipe run...

maybe i will have to try it and let everyone know how it goes when i get my car back...

we ultimatly need some inlet temp sensor...

also does anyone have a actual inlet manifold boost nipple (ow er) plumbed directly in to see actually what the engines getting boost wise...?

You are most likely going to run the TMIC post CC so the air will just get heated up again on the nice toasting rack on top of your engine.Search Vpulsars CC for a really good bespoke setup.

we drilled and tapped the plenum for the spa boost pressure/temp gauge, gives you the best reading

If you fit a decent front mount intercooler you shouldn’t need a charge cooler, why add more in to go wrong or take up more space.

Vpulsar wanted to be different & went with a decent charge cooler on its own & it would never have coped with a track day.

A standard evo 5-9 intercooler will cope with 400bhp with cool running temps even though it isn’t that big.
