i have now got my engine in bits and noticed the crowns/tops of the pistons are really oily .....why is this.the oil is really thick and drynot fresh :?

its not a great deal as it will be rebored anyway :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

If its dry are you sure its not a build up of carbon :?:

If its definatly oil then there must have been something wrong with your engine

yes now you mention it it might be carbon build up.
