Injector Damage?

My 800cc Injectors arrived and one looks like this;

Now I assume that this is not right - or is the plastic cap meant to be removed before installation on the car? Forgive my ignorance!

The OE injectors have that plastic cap on, so I'd think that those injectors should too. :/

Yes, it's the pintle cap. The platic cap should remain on the injector. There is a small hole in the end of it for fuel to spray out.
The cap is there for 'protection' of the end of the pintle (the little plunger that pulls back when the injector is pulsed).

I've seen standard gtir injector come out with almost no cap left - and you have to wonder where all those bits have gone!!!!

Cheers fellas - any idea where I can buy replacements? Google turned up plenty of sites in the US but surely we have someplace domestic?
