ignition amplifier

i've been told that i need a new iginiton amplifier as the car is hesitating and cutting out when warm.

i've been to my local nissan garage and they cant find it on their system.

so does anyone have a part number, or even a picture of one and where its located that i can use to identify what i need?

the only part that comes close is the distributor power transistor- is that the same as the ignition amplifier?

Should be the little black box by the distributor that feeds it. Has a part number written on it iirc. I would go and look but I can't be arsed to get in the garage plus it's nice and warm in here :lol:
