how to tell if a transmission has an lsd

Hi ,

I'm just wondering how to tell if the gti-r transmission has some markings or any distinguishing characteristics if it has a lsd.

A gent claims he has a transmission with a front lsd, he doesn't know what kind it is. I don't want to buy it and end up finding out its just an open diff.

Any hints?

Drive it,my front LSD is continually correcting the steering to straight on bends.You'll notice the difference cornering too,WAY better.

Jack up the front of the car so both wheels are off the floor. put it in gear, usually on a NON LSD car as you turn one clock wise the other would turn anti clockwise relatively easily. If it has and LSD it will feel quite stiff, and you'll not be able to spin it.

if on floor you have difficult time to check
the only way is pull out the driveshaft and peek at the hole

hey cmng, so if you peak in the driveshaft hole, what should it look like?

i also noticed in other posts that other members said they had got lsd's off you. By any chance do you have any left?
I'd rather buy it off someone reputable.
