Hi, just bought a pulsar but the chap i bought it off wasn't too 'informed' of the spec. How would i find out what boost its running/set at?? Is this the -7, +7 gauge?

cheers, pete

if u mean the standard gauge its not the most accurate, ur best to get a aftermarket gauge to keep a eye on ur boost.

the +7 gauge means .7bar which is standard.

If it goes over this obviously its running more..

However the gauges are very old and cannot really be relied on at this stage...

standard gauge reads in mmHg x100

So 7 on the gauge = 700 mmHg = 13.54 psi = 0.9333 bar

If it's going past the 7 then you have no idea and might even have a pipe of somewhere allowing it to run unlimited boost. The motor will not last very long like this!

Check all your pipes are connected as per:

Then work out how the previous owner(s) have increased the boost and fit an aftermarket boost gauge.

I wouldn't rag it until you definitely know what boost it's running, it could end up being very very expensive.
