Here's a silly question

My locking nut on the altenator pivot bolt has worked loose and dissapeared, maybe i didnt tighten it the long bolt keeps working its way out, its pissing down and i cannot be arsed to take the altenator off to get the bolt out and measure the thread, does anyone know what thread this is, would save me getting very wet and cold, much appreciated, jeff

funny you say that Jimmys R had the same problem , tighten the bolt and it makes its way loose

its getting a nyloc nut on then :twisted:

Make sure the nyloc isn't near the manifold at all or the heat could melt the plastic, maybe try some thread locking compound.

mine did this its a wierd thread. i got a new nut from nissan and threadlocked it on. it was a twat of a job it total cos the sleeves came out of the alternator mounting.

the nut is on the outside i.e near the belts, has my car been put together wrong wonder who did that
