help with gearbox

... my problem is:

i cant change gear.. the 3 gear is on what ever gear i turn the shift to..

if i turn the shift to gear 1 ... the 3 gear is on.....
i can move the shifter to all gears but the gearbox does not change gear...

whats wrong?

hope you guys understand my bad english..

plz i need help...

If the linkage is still connected and you can select all the gears from but are stuck in 3rd then its an internal gearbox problem, prob a 3/4 selector fork as these are known to break. Ive just replaced a gearbox on a Vauxhall with the same problem, it was a fault with the baulk ring.

I'd agree with Jase. I'll mean a 'box re-build as far as I know so budget for a new clutch, etc unless it's been done recently. You might aswell do it while the box is out.

butt is it diffecult to change the fork?

i dont think its too hard.

i looked at mine the other day. just getting the box out and all the rest is the hard bit.
