Guys, I've got an AVCR installed in my P11 (GTi-R motor). I bought the car with it already installed....I've checked the wiring, and all the wiring is in the correct places. The dash speedometer works, but there is no reading for speed on the AVCR display
. I was in the process of going through the setup to do the gear-based learning, and only then I realized the problem.
The speed input for the avcr (white wire) is spliced in the right place by the ecu as well. Bearing in mind that the gauge cluster / panel is the Primera original. Can I wire the avcr directly to the speed sensor wire in the engine bay, that's coming off the gear box?
What voltage can I expect to see on the speed wire on the ecu? If I'm not getting a reading on the speed wire at the ecu, what are my options?
Or could it be that the speed reading part of the avcr has died?
