Help! Cars running way too rich

as above, how can i lean out the mixture?
the fuel cost is getttin silly, im filling £10 of optimax a day jus to go 20-30miles and thats not booting it. :shock: :shock: :x

probly need 2 get car tunned mate hav u added any mods 2 it lately mate :?:

are you getting black smoke :?:
is your tailpipe black and sooty :?: :wink: steady now :lol:

nah no black smoke, my exhaust tip is a bit black, not too much though.
how can i check if the det sensor is fcuked?
how much is it to replace?
ive only got a bleed valve (set to 1 bar), ind kit, dump valve and a mongoose turbo back, sensible mods :lol:

If the idles OK doesn't sound like air leak or dump valve.
To block it off just take it off and put a bung in.
See if it runs any better but like I said if its idling ok doesn't sound like air leak.
My bro's made a cool little device to presure test the intake system.
Got a blocked off pipe with attachment for air compressure.
Puts that in the pipe that comes off turbo and turns the pressure up.
Then can hear any air leaks with engine not runnin and dead silence.
Not sort of thing you'll have lyin around but all our mates come round to use it.
You'll be surprised at the amount of air leaks that are about that never new about.

Check you fuel pressure regulator as well, I had one once that developed a hole in the diaphram and it just dripped fuel straight through it into the inlet.

Take the FPR vacuum pipe off the manifold and see if there is any fuel inside it. Try sucking on it as well, it should be sealed. If its leaking you'll get a mouthful of petrol ;) :D

when i got my car it been set to 15dgs instead on 20dgs.
i was wondering why it runned so rich. check and adjusted timing and now its just fine :)
probably cause off mishapp. many other engines has 0.5.10.15.20dg marks.
R has -5, 0, 5, 10 , 15, 20dg.
