Maybe they were talking bollocks!
It happens quite a bit with these cars as not many people know what they are talking about!
I'd get it checked to make sure its not a "stroker" and when you find out, you can either stick to a 2.0 (with an overbore @ 86.5mm) or buy a new stroker kit (

I personally I think its a 2.0L with an overbore @ 86.5mm - I'd stick with that as it should be easier and cheaper to rebuild!
