Head Issue

I just brought my R in serious need of t l c so i limped it home to the workshop where i work and whipped the head off and got it reconded and the turbo and now im ready to put it back together what im wanting to know is the measurements of the locator dowels because the ones in my engine dont fit snuggly in the block and when in the head dont stick out the bottom also has anyone tried putting p10 cams in the R cause mine are buggered:doh:

take the dowels out the head and place them in the block face, tap them down so theres around 7-8mm sticking up then put the head back on.
only reason they wont fit properly is because they have been pushed in the head too far, they are the right ones;-)
