Gearbox Noises

There is a grinding noise coming from my gearbox, it sounds like the thrust bearing cos if i put my foot on the clutch the noise stops. some of u may have had the same problem.

I now have been told that i could be the layshaft bearings instead cos the noise would stop also wen the clutch pedal is pressed.

Has any 1 else had a problem with the layshaft bearings being knackered?

Yes mate,the inputshaft bearings seem to be a bit of a weakpoint.I have just had mine replaced as they were whinning abit and i was changing the clutch anyway.Cost me £200 at my local gearbox builder.

:twisted: Looks like my inputshaftbearings have got to be done again :twisted: ,i can hear them groaning abit as i accelerate ,i suppose its just one of those things ;-) ,just my luck :lol: :lol: :lol: .Gearbox out again ;-) ,gives me abit more practice i suppose :lol: :lol: :lol: .
