Gearbox Breather leakage

How many people get oil leakage from the gearbox breather pipe, if this is you what oil do you use.

Yes I did but i'd over filled it with redline by proberly 1/2 Lt .

seems fine now as it's found it's own level 8) .

I'm using Silkolene Silktran Syn 5 and almost definatly not over filled and it's still coming out. The only way I can think it's making it's way up that breather is that maybe the Silkolene is frothing up and the little bit of in case pressure (which is normal) is pushing the oil up the tube.

I just wondered if anyone else using this oil has the same problem.

I think it will settle down once it finds it's own level as mine did mate .

Im using the silkolene syn 5 aswell steve and ive had no probs with it :?

I would thought the only way your get oil to come out that breather is by excessive preassure in the case or if you have overfilled it like numpty Rob has!! :lol: :lol:

i thought you just filled it up till it couldn' t take any more :? not had any discharge from mine :?

Its probably the tranfer box seal, i had this problem, replaced and it and now its fine.
