Gear stick centering spring?

The spring that resists movement of the gearstick whilst in neutral seems to have lost its 'springyness'.

So when you move the gearstick from side to side whilst in neutral, the gearstick doesn't spring back to a central position very well.

Does anyone know who supplies this part? And secondly, can this spring be accessed from removing the gearstick gaitor inside the car?

Any help much appreciated!

If you jack up the car, you should be able to reach the spring just fine. And no, you can't reach it by removing the gaitor.

They do have it, I just got one from Nissan, took a couple of days. Think it was about £6

Got one ordered today, expected delivery of a week, so not too bad...only £7 too.

Hopefully its not too much a pain in the arse to locate the spring once i've jacked the car up.

Just fitted the new spring....very simple to change!

Definitely feels better with the new spring in.

Nissan was PM'd letting them know I was going to fit the part that I had just collected, which was followed by a confirmation PM to let them know that all was ok.

I think I followed the pre/post PM'ing rules to the book this time ;-)
